Prepare the floor beneath it
A practical scope may include removal, substrate flatness and repairs, moisture review, underlayment,
expansion space, transitions, door clearances, base or trim, stairs, and movement between rooms. An
attractive product cannot correct a poorly prepared substrate.
What to share
Provide the room or area, property type and use, approximate size, current floor and substrate if known,
moisture history, desired product, transition points, occupied access needs, and photos. Product
documentation helps determine installation limits.
Laminate or vinyl?
Laminate and vinyl differ in composition, moisture tolerance, feel, sound, and installation requirements.
Compare the exact products against the room and substrate rather than choosing from the category
name alone.
Share the area, use, current floor, moisture concerns, and product you are considering.
