Review the wall, not only the boards
Siding works as part of an exterior assembly. Scope may depend on substrate condition, weather barrier, flashing, drainage paths, penetrations, window and door interfaces, roof transitions, grade clearance, trim, fastening, finish, and any visible moisture damage. Local replacement must also account for product and profile compatibility.
What to share
Send photos of each affected elevation, close views taken safely from the ground, property type, approximate area, current material if known, leak or moisture history, prior repairs, opening changes, and the desired finish. Include product documents when a specific line has been selected.
Is Hardie the same as all fiber cement?
No. Hardie is a brand; fiber cement is a product category. The final scope should name the documented product rather than use a brand name for an unknown material.
