Plan behind the finishes
Tile and fixtures are visible. Water management, substrate condition, ventilation, plumbing locations, electrical requirements, and transitions to surrounding rooms determine whether those finishes have a sound base. Existing damage or concealed conditions may require investigation before the final scope is set.
What to share
Provide room photos and approximate dimensions, current issues, desired layout, fixture and surface direction, accessibility needs, ventilation concerns, property type, occupancy, and any known leaks or prior repairs. Identify whether the bathroom must remain partly usable during the work.
Does a bathroom remodel require moving plumbing?
Not always. Keeping fixtures near existing locations may reduce system changes, but room goals, current plumbing, fixture selections, substrate conditions, and applicable requirements determine the practical approach.
